Abstract: The stability of banking and non-banking financial institutions in the Republic of Moldova is still generated by systemic risks. However, the fast measures adopted by national and international authorities, in particular the structural actions undertaken by the NBM and the NCFM, are aimed at resolving the current crisis as soon as possible, so that banking and non-banking financial institutions can adequately fulfill their role of financing SMEs and the population. In this article, the author comes up with a well-defined strategic management model for non-bank lending institutions in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of the research is to identify the usefulness of the existing strategic management model for non-bank lending institutions, in order to apply the recommendations for its improvement by using strategic performance indicators. To achieve the objectives proposed in the study, the author used the following research methods and tools: the method of synthesis, comparison, SWOT analysis, BSC, analogy and the questionnaire interview method.
