Abstract: | During the last few years the U.S. became the largest market in the world of wine. All the countries want to obtain a share of it. One of the most recent participants on the market is the Republic of Moldova. The U.S. wine market exhibits a huge absorption capacity of the wines produced in different countries. Analysing the trends in U.S. foreign penetration of wines can be highlighted three types of strategies to promote wine: gradual, combined and offensive. The last one offers Moldovan wine producers the possibility to launch business activities in states with a large percentage of immigrants from former Soviet Republics who know these brands and have confidence in the quality of Moldovan wine. It is a fact that a large part of the U.S. population does not know that Moldova is a country with traditions of winemaking. Due to this fact, Moldovan exporters will need additional resources to promote Moldovan wine in the regions populated exclusively by Americans. |
