In this paper endogenous growth models bazed on the R&D are discassed. Starting with the argumentation that ideas or knowledge are one type of the public goods, which are non-reval and non-excludable, imperfect competition is necessary condition for technical progress appearence. The existence of monopoly rents incentivize private agents to do research, resulting in the creation of new products and production processes. Two types of the models are examined. The quality-ladder model of growth in which technological advancement is built on the process of creative destruction. And the model of variety expansion where increasing of inputs drives long-run growth. The problem of its models adaptation to the Moldavian economy are examined. Conclusions and proposals are given.en_EN
