dc.description.abstractFrom a management point of view, globalisation is a marketing or strategy term referring to the creation of international markets for consumption goods characterised by similar needs and tastes of clients, thus succeeding in selling, for instance, the same cars or soaps or food products by similar advertising campaigns to people belonging to different cultures. Such usage is in contrast with the internationalisation describing the activities of multinational companies or with financial instruments, good or products destined only for local markets. Nevertheless, as long as the world has technical andpolitical meanings attached at the same time, various groups shall have different backgrounds in terms of globalisation. Moreover, general terms used in economy and political economy render evident a history of development of inter-State trade based on stable institutions that authorise companies from various States to exchange goods more easily. The term liberalisation has led to an increasing number of countries specialised in exports and to procedures undertaken in order to put an end to protectionist tariffs and to other barriers against trade.en_EN
