Abstract

The article presents the analysis of time allocation in the process of education and childcare in the family. Based on NBS data, the author identifies the time allocation model for

various activities, depending on the number and age of children, the distribution of the

family roles by gender and area of

residence, labor market involvement of the parents. In

order to determine the time budget structure, variables of time spent on childcare, on paid

and unpaid household labor were emphasized and their plenitude and interdependence

was determined. The multidimensional analysis demonstrates the presence of the traditional model regarding the unequal involvement of the partners in children’s education. The

gender gap is stressed also, both professionally and at home, by allocating time on various activities in these areas of human activity.
